is there any sort of investment involved, and how much and how often do you collect money from it?

Any Content Site is good for money making blog.
Investment needed definitely, no investment no return.
Collecting money from your site would depends a lot on the efforts put in and the amount of revenue models you adopt.

I’m not sure exactly what you mean. I have a money making blog that I created myself and I set it up through blogspot.com. I collect from google adwords on it from people clicking on the links and I make income when people join the various sites I’m a member of. If you want, you can look at mine and see if it’s something like you want. Blogspot is really user friendly. I had never blogged before and it was really easy to find my way around and figure out how to do what I wanted with it.
